Youth Ministry
At Joy, we recognize that
the single most important influence on the faith development of youth is their
family. We do everything we can to
support and strengthen the Christian home.
In addition, we provide the following opportunities for youth to
encounter Christ with their peers.
WEEKLY EVENTS
Confirmation –
for 8th – 9th graders – large and small group events
focused on meaningful relationships and experiential learning – Wednesdays from
6:15pm to 7:30pm.
PB&G (Prayer, Breakfast and God)- meets Mondays
7:30-8:00am for High School students. Food, fellowship, fun, devotions and prayer. Start your week off right, “Don’t forget your PB&G”.
Study Break – for
9th – 12th grade – fun, fellowship and discussion of faith
issues - Wednesday s from 8:00pm to 9:30pm at Joy.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Weekend Youth Conferences – We attend youth
Encounter events in Minneapolis and Bloomington. 6th – 9th grade
Youth Quakes in November and March.
9th
– 12th grade Youth Congresses in December and March. Music, Worship,
Education, Fellowship and lots of fun.
9th Grade Retreat – for students in
Confirmation.
30 Hr. Famine – This event is usually at the end of
February or the beginning of March.
Students raise money and awareness for hungry people around the world. For 8th – 12th
grade.
Mission Trips – Summer mission trip for 9th
grade to adult.
Middle School Camping Trip – Summer trips offered
for 5th – 6th grade students and also for 7th
– 8th grade students.
You(th) Plan It Events – The staff here at Joy
is happy to encourage and support any event planned and carried out by the youth
themselves.
