Friends of Joy Ministry

 

We at Joy understand that sometimes a person has a need to talk about events in their lives.  Friends of Joy Ministry is a lay pastoral care program.  Specially trained lay persons enter into caring relationships with others at times of special need by visiting – bringing emotional and spiritual support.

 Confidentiality: Friends of Joy maintain a strict policy of confidentiality.  We respect the privacy of all who are befriended.

 Accountability: Friends of Joy participate in on-going, bi-monthly  ministry reflection with the supervision of Friends of Joy coordinators and the Pastor.

Whom do Friends of Joy serve: Friends of Joy visit persons who are home-bound, terminally ill and/or their families, grieving individuals, nursing home residents, others with needs as identified by the congregation or staff.  An individual may be referred by themselves or other concerned party.
